For electronic circuit boards, plasma treatment can be used in highly effective ways.

  • 1. Clean the surface of the circuit board, the components, and the laminate to be 100% contamination free.
  • 2. Activate the surface of all the circuit board parts to allow easier bonding and better adhesion.
  • 3. Treatment allows better wettability and stronger adhesion for applied coatings and glues to substrates, making their bonds less susceptible to failure.
  • 4. Reduces factory rejects and produces higher quality PCB's.
Traditionally, cleaning and adhesion promotion has been achieved by either using a wet chemistry treatment like washing or applying extra undercoats (priming).
